MADE Group CO and ViLabs are the official co-organisers and will hold “SEW 2018: Start(up) from Thessaloniki to EU” to showcase the support and resources available for entrepreneurs in the Region of Central Macedonia.
Startup Europe Week aims to showcase the support available to entrepreneurs on a city and regional level. Why is this necessary?
Regional diversity and local policy making still play a big role in shaping European startups, from helping entrepreneurs to incorporate a company, to providing grants or taxes breaks. For this reason, taking a local perspective is crucial to supporting entrepreneurs in Europe. It’s also why the initiative is promoted and given visibility by the European Commission’s Startup Europe.
In 2018, #SEW18 will be held between 5-9 March, with +300 events planned. SEW now has 50+ countries involved and is expanding beyond Europe to include Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
In the spirit of regional connection, #SEW18 will be launched with a joint event between two local ecosystems: Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain and Brasov, Romania.
This year, MADE and ViLabs are the official co-organisers and will hold “SEW 2018 Thessaloniki: Start(up) from Thessaloniki to EU” to showcase the support and resources available for entrepreneurs in the Region of Central Macedonia. The event is open to anyone who works with startups or who is thinking about starting their own business.
The event is hosted in the University of Macedonia and it will be held on the 9th of March at 17.00. Entrepreneurs, officials, academia, MEPs and media will join this broad creative dialogue. Stay tuned for more details, soon! Join us and register for the event via this link [www.f6s.com].
In 2017, #SEW17 saw 280+ co-organisers organize hundreds of events in 40+ countries, with more than 100,000 audience of entrepreneurs and 18 million+ impressions on social media. In Thessaloniki, more than 300 citizens embraced the city’s SEW events.
Join the official ’thunderclap’ campaign on social media to show your support, as well as make sure to follow @startupeuw on twitter and use the official hashtag #SEW18. We look forward to seeing you there!
