Hackathon #transport, a 2 days Crowdhackathon on the applications implement in the fields of economy and of society, related to transports is about to be held on 4 & 5 of July 2015. Organizers are the Athens Public Transports (OASA Group), the Crowdpolicy and the INNOVATHENS (Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub of Athens Municipality Technopolis) and the event will be hosted in INNOVATHENS facilities.
That initiative is part of the strategy of Athens Public Transports to provide open data, which is in accordance to European Frame (i.e. Digital Agenda Europe) and to Greek Legislation. The free disposal of public data to economy and public administration sections reduces the trade cost between civilians and the state, since more and better quality data result informed civilians and support the economy through the innovative entrepreneurship development.
The event aims to:

Set the foundations for the development of useful applications, which are based on data combination, thus in the future to be in a fully functional form by the Athens Public Transports,
●
Rise the interest of young people, web developers, analyzers, transport specialists, experts in communication and customer service, students, transport professionals, in order, all together, to create products/services for the public benefit,
●
Develop the conditions for young entrepreneurship, since through the competition is possible to come up a new team or company that will contribute to Greek economy in the future.
The basic participation sections to Crowdhackathon #transport are:
1) Applications that leverage of A.P.T. data, combining them with other sources and aim to strengthen the digital economy and entrepreneurship.
2) Useful tools and practices that improve the A.P.T services.
3) Creatively working and co-working on Open Data.

The participation is for free, however there is a certain number of positions per role and applies the “first come first served” model.
