This year’s roadshow will be focusing on cutting-edge technologies contributing to boosting broadband across the European continent. This includes mobile and fixed broadband networks, covering the latest generation of technology available on the market today as well as developments paving the way for the wireless communication of the future such as 5G.
As ICT innovation is shifting the boundaries between the physical and the digital world, it has a profound impact on the way we live. Keeping up with a mobile demand that is growing exponentially is one of the greatest challenges to be tackled in this context: mobile data traffic is expected to grow 10-fold between 2013 and 2019.
“Ubiquitous, instant connectivity is becoming a basic necessity for our societies – enabling us to interact, work and do business efficiently,” said Leo Sun, President of Huawei’s EU Public Affairs Office in Brussels. “At Huawei, we are doing our bit to drive technological progress towards this level of connectivity to keep Europe’s economy competitive and create endless possibilities for every single one of us in the process.”
To make the promise of new possibilities fuelled by hyper connectivity a reality, Huawei is working on concrete solutions to create smarter cities and industries, and ensuring that these developments are made sustainable.
The European roadshow enables you to catch a glimpse of what some of these solutions look like in practice, and provides opportunities to exchange views with Huawei’s distinguished ICT experts.
The tailor-made showcase will highlight Huawei’s specific contribution to each country visited, focusing on the difference these innovations can make to your life. Thanks to interactive screens and 3D projections, you will be able to experience Huawei’s future network vision first-hand. Technologies put on display include augmented reality solutions, small cell on demand and some of the milestones reached towards the development of the future wireless communications standard, 5G.
Huawei is at the forefront of initiatives to drive 5G technologies forward. It plans to invest at least €444 million in 5G research over the next four years.
Having visited Scandinavia in April, the truck is now on its way to Greece, Romania, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, France, the UK, Germany and Austria where its journey will end on 4 July.
